Dr. Oluwatoni Adeyemi (MBBS, MPH, MScPH, MWACP, FMCPH) is currently the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Lagos State Government on Health. She is a distinguished Consultant Public Health Physician with the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital Ikeja (LASUTH) and an Associate Lecturer at the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM). She has over seventeen years of expertise in community-oriented public health programs and research.

She is a Mandela Washington Fellow of the public management track and an alumnus of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University, New York. This opportunity arose due to her exemplary leadership in her organization and community. She also received the Orange Knowledge Program scholarship which enabled her to complete a specialized one-year public health degree in sexual and reproductive health and rights at the KIT Royal Tropical Institute, Amsterdam, sponsored by the Netherlands Government.

As SSA Health, she works closely with the Honorable Commissioner of Health and the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Health to drive forward strategic health programs that positively impact Lagos State and ultimately Nigeria. She collaborates with fellow public health professionals to raise awareness of public health issues, particularly in neglected and hard-to-reach communities.

Serving as the immediate past Public Relations Officer of the Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria, Lagos State chapter, she continues to play a pivotal role in advancing public health initiatives.

Throughout her career, Dr. Adeyemi has partnered with local and international non-governmental organizations, faith-based groups, and community development associations to initiate, plan, and implement various community health interventions, utilizing adaptable and appropriate technology.
In both her consulting role and as a senior special assistant on health, she advocates for a holistic and collaborative approach to addressing the diverse health challenges facing Lagos State and Nigeria at large. Prioritizing evidence-based policies, she focuses on key health issues such as infectious diseases, maternal and child health, and non-communicable diseases.
