Hon. Mrs Opeyemi Akindele

Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi (née Adeaga) is a distinguished Nigerian politician and educationist, well-known for her active role in the political landscape of Mosan Okunola LCDA, Alimosho Local Government Area, and Lagos State at large.

Affectionately referred to as *"Adunni in the neighbourhood"* within her community, she currently holds the position of All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman for Mosan Okunola LCDA, she is the Senior Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi's public service career includes her tenure as the Executive Secretary of Mosan Okunola LCDA from 2015 to 2016. Before this, she was twice elected as the Vice Chairman of Mosan Okunola LCDA, serving from 2008 to 2011 and from 2011 to 2014 respectively.
In 2012, she also held the position of Chairman of the Lagos State Association of Councils Vice Chairmen (LASACVIC), where she played a pivotal role in coordinating the activities of council vice chairmen across the state.

Early Life
She was born into the family of the late Engr. Ishola and Mrs. Adeaga on January 17, 1966, in Lagos State, Nigeria.
Akindele Adunni Opeyemi attended Nusara-Ud-Deen Primary School, Post Office Road, Mushin, Lagos, where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate in 1979. She then proceeded to Ansar-Ud-Deen Girls’ High School, Itire, Odo Eran, Mushin, Lagos, where she earned her West African Secondary School Certificate (WASSCE) in 1984.

She attended Local Authority Teachers’ Training College (LATTCO), Iyana-Ofa (then Oyo State, now Osun State), where she obtained her Teachers’ Grade II Certificate in 1990.

Subsequently, she earned a B.Sc. (Hons) in Education/Mathematics, 2nd Class Division, from the prestigious University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, in 1999.

In 2010, she became a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN) and a Fellow of the Institute of Public Management (Unique).

She bagged an M.Ed. in Educational Management from Lagos State University, Ojo, in 2013.

Early Career
Akindele Adunni Opeyemi began her career as a teacher and later headmistress at Royal International School, Baruwa, Ipaja, Lagos, from 1990 to 2000.

In 2000, she was promoted to the position of Senior Tutor/Head of Department (H.O.D) for Mathematics at Royal Comprehensive College, Baruwa, Ipaja, and later served as Vice Principal from 2001 to 2002.

She subsequently became the Principal of Akinrotoye Memorial High School, Ashipa, Ayobo, Lagos, from 2002 to 2005.


Personal Life
She is happily married to Alhaji Waheed Adekunle Akindele, and their union is blessed with children.

Akindele Adunni Opeyemi is a passionate football fan, a staunch supporter of Chelsea Football Club, and the brain behind the Annual Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Unity Cup. The competition is held among various football teams across the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas in the state.
