Dokun Adedeji, the Chief Executive Officer, Compassionate Care Recovery Initiative (CCRI), a Non-Government Organization working within the treatment and rehabilitation space, is a medical doctor, prolific writer and poet; a transformational public speaker and a deeply committed and passionate Nigerian with a heart for touching lives. He has an uncanny understanding of the workings of the human mind. He was the former Director-General of CADAM, a faith-based NGO that caters for the treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts.
He is also a Member, Special Purpose Committee of the CCEO of the NDLEA, an advisory body.
Trained at the prestigious University of Ife now called Obafemi Awolowo University, as a medical doctor, his work experience traverses diverse sectors of the national economy in equally diverse and sometimes intricate positions.
He was a Senior Medical Officer with First Foundation Medical Center in Lagos; before joining Cadbury Nigeria PLC first as Company Medical Advisor and later he became the award-winning head of HR Department of Cadbury Nigeria until he voluntarily retired in 2010.
Former Consultant to the Federal Government SURE-P Programme, Dr Adedeji consults for corporate bodies and organizations in the medical and human resources fields. Dr Adedeji’s passion for humanity is revealed in his numerous not-for-profit services to various segments of the society’s less privileged.
He serves as a Resource Person to NECA and other such organizations. In 2002, he won the global Chairman’s Award for Employee Community involvement in recognition of his efforts as the Coordinator of CADAM. He was also nominated as one of the torch bearers of the Queens’ Baton during the Commonwealth Games in Manchester, UK. He was also nominated alongside CADAM for a United Nations award. He had served as the National Coordinator, and then the Director-General for this NGO for about 31years.
He is a contributor to the book of poetry; Poets at Work, a collection of poems, Crossroads to mark the birthday of Christopher Okigbo. In 2008, he went on to write and publish his book of poetry; Mind Trials.
